Operation Isaiah

Operation Isaiah – the food drive of the Conservative Movement – will again join with other Jewish movements and Mazon to make the High Holy Days a time of Jewish response to hunger in North America.

We at B’nai Tikvah, along with other North American congregations, encourage our members to donate money and non-perishable food items to Mazon.

Congregants may bring contributions and non-perishable food throughout the High Holy Days, and particularly the evening of Kol Nidrei services, which will then be distributed to local food banks.

Healing Service - Yom Kipppur

Rabbi Alex Felch will lead our Healing Service on Yom Kippur, Thursday, Oct. 8, 3:00 pm. This service is designed to help us find inner strength in the face of illness that we or our dear beloved are confronting.

HHD Alt Service 5771

Thursday, Sept. 9, 9:00 am

Saturday, Sept. 18, 9:00 am

Congregation B’nai Tikvah offers an off-site Alternative High Holy Day service, where families of multiple generations have the opportunity to worship together in a warm, informal setting.

Stories, explanations of key High Holiday concepts and prayers, and singing with musical accompaniment are included in this participatory venue for members and non-members alike, as the service is open to the community and is free of charge. Reservations are required.

The service will begin at 9:00 am, and will end at approximately 11:30 am.

To attend, participants need to register online offsite registration in advance of those days in order to receive their tickets (which are free).

Tickets will be mailed prior to the Holidays on a first come first serve basis.

Yom Kippur Afternoon Program

Bring your children to B’nai Tikvah’s Yom Kippur afternoon program. When Yizkor begins and continuing to the end of Yom Kippur, children will sing songs and recite Yom Kippur prayers, learn the story of Jonah and participate in other educational activities.

The program will conclude with the children marching with lighted glowsticks into the Main Sanctuary for the concluding Havdalah service. Following the final blast of the Shofar, we will “break the fast” together in the lobby with cake and juice.
