Felicia Lev

Executive Director

Felicia Lev has been B’nai Tikvah’s Executive Director since July 2013. Felicia began her career at the synagogue in 1998 as Education Director. Her commitment to Jewish education has been demonstrated by her commitment to the Religious School families.

Felicia graduated from the University of Illinois with a BA in Special Education and Roosevelt University with an MA in Guidance and Counseling.

Felicia’s responsibilities include directing all synagogue administration, coordinating the use of the synagogue’s facility, managing day-to-day affairs, being available to assist all congregants in any aspect required and overseeing the synagogue’s budget.

Felicia considers B’nai Tikvah her second home and is thrilled to see young adults who grew up at the synagogue returning with their families.


Carly Valfer

Education Director

Carly has a Master of Jewish Education from Hebrew College. She did her undergraduate studies at Indiana University Bloomington,  majoring in Jewish Studies and Political Science.

Carly grew up in Skokie, Illinois, spending her summers at URJ, Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute. Working with young children has always been a passion of Carly’s, as she has spent the last few years teaching 5th grade religious school. Carly also spent the past few years as a youth group advisor and B’nai Mitzvah tutor. In her free time, Carly loves cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Carly is excited to bring her excitement for learning and curriculum, community and youth to Congregation B’nai Tikvah.


Ariana Hershon

Youth Director

Ariana moved to Chicago and joined the B’nai Tikvah community in August 2015. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in May 2015 with a BA in Political Science focusing on Middle Eastern studies. She also has a minor in Resource Economics. Ariana spent her junior year abroad at the University of Haifa in Israel.

Ariana was born and raised in central Massachusetts, and attended Camp Young Judaea in New Hampshire for many summers. She is also an alumna of the Diller Teen Fellows program. Ariana is a veteran staff member at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin.
