Sisterhood is an integral part of B'nai Tikvah.
Our programs offer spiritual, educational, cultural, and social opportunities for the women of B'nai Tikvah.
Sisterhood fundraising provides a significant financial contribution to the synagogue. We serve the community by
supporting the Torah Fund of Women's League for Conservative Judaism as well as other national and
global Jewish organizations. Come be a sister in Sisterhood!

Rosh Chodesh is traditionally a time for women to meet at the beginning of the Hebrew Calendar month to take a break from their day-to-day work where they socialize and often study together. Our new Rosh Chodesh format will offer all Sisterhood members and friends the opportunity to lead one of our monthly conversations that will focus on topics about how a particular experience has impacted you or your family's Jewish life.
Call Lynn Miller at 847/948-0672 if you are interested in leading one of our monthly sessions.
Below are a few sample topics from which to choose--we look forward to hearing from you!
- Experiencing Israel through your own trip or a trip taken by a family member
- Tikun Olam--Mitzvah day or a Tzedakah project and how it impacted you.
- The impact of a book (i.e. The Five Books of Miriam), prayer, or torah portion on your Jewish life
- Jewish Law and Observance (Halacha)
- Creating a Jewish home
- Rituals of Mourning
- Building a Jewish identity through schools, camps, synagogues, literature, etc.
- Adult Jewish study--Examples include Adult B'nai Mitzvah, Melton School, relevant books, etc.
